The 5th day in Chile travel

On March 7, I had the dinner party of the conference.
I ate a lot of seafood and drunk a little white wine.
Chile is blessed with an abundance of seafood.

In this conference, I talked with a lot of foreign people.
Perhaps, I can joined the next international conference without other Japanese..

The 4th day of Chile travel

On 6 March, I enjoyed the nature tour in Pucon.
The conference prepared the excursion for us.

I went to the restaurant called Kodkod.

"Kod kod" means the precious cat, Leopardus guigna.
Perhaps, it's like "Iriomote yamaneko" in Japan.
Researchers have investigated the ecology of Kod kod.
Some citizens have protected their habitats, and they conduct the Eco way of farming.

I walked near their habitats listening to the guide.
The latitude of Pucon is same as Iwate prefecture (39 degree).
There are the white birch and bamboos.
But some plants were quiet different from Japan.
Interesting!
I saw also wild parrots!!

On 5 March, I presented my research in the conference.
When I offerred to this conference last September, I applied the oral presentation.
But my research didn't fit to the theme submitted by the conference.
So I presented by a poster.

About 10 people came to my poster during 1.5 hr, and I could discussed well with them.
Thank you very much for taking their time!

Today, I found that people in Spanish-speaking countries were not good with English.
They are same as Japanese.
It's easy to catch Canadian and European people's English.
They repeated slowly when I couldn't understand what they said.
Very kind.

On the other hand, USA people don't care whether people in non English-speaking countries
can catch their unclear and fast English.
I want to make US people realize the language barrier!!
I'll never forget the US woman's derision when I couldn't understand what she said!!!

 Return to Japan

Yesterday, I returned to Japan.
The return trip from Santiago was alone.
I'm tired. So, I will write the detail of this travel tomorrow or sometime later.

The 2 day in Chile travel

Last night, the presentation of the conference started.
We have the tea times in both the morning and afternoon.
To have much time for communication.
And we have the buffet-style lunch.
In the evening, the (Chile) wine and cheese party.

Now, I'm in Chile.
I want to avoid that I talk with Japanese.
So, I addressed a Canadian woman whose age looks about 30 years old.
Then, a Canadian guy added us.

After the party, they told me, "How about to go to the restaurant?"
"Yes!" I answered.
I followed them (I was only Japanese in that Canadian group).
We had supper for 1.5 hr in the town.
I enjoyed very much!!
It was right about addressing them from myself.

The first day in Chile travel

Yesterday, I arrived at Tumuco via Santiago.
When the airplane arrived in Temuco airport, I got diarrhea and suffered from anemia.
I have a weak stomach. And I get motion sickness easily.
Additionally, I have anemia definitely such a time.

I had to move from Temuco airport to Pucon where the conference is held.
While I couldn't walk, my coworker stop the courtesy bus in the front of the airport.
Other participants were waiting for me.
I'm sorry, and thank you very much.

It took 1.5 hr from the airport to Pucon.
Finally, I arrived at the hotel (Hotel La Posada Plaza de Pucon).
Reception was held last night.
But unfortunately, I had slept in the hotel.

 Lounge at Toronto airport

Now, I'm in Tronto for transit to Chile.
Flight time is 11h50min from Tokyo to Toronto,
and 10h20min from here to Santigao.
And then. I move from Santiago to Temco by airplane for 2 hours.
Furthermore, I go to Pucon by bus for 2 hours.
The travel halfway around the globe in 2days!

Just now, I took a shower in a lounge, and refreshed!!
My coworker is the member of Star Alliance, and took me here.

To enter this lounge in Gate E, I had to immigrate Canada once.
So, I have to go through the departure gate from now.
